Demystifying The Headshot: Images That Work For You

Date and Time:

September 26, 2006
6:30pm - 8:00pm

Location:

The Dean's Conference Room, 12th Floor

Paula Barr is a world-renowned photographer, represented in museums and art collections. She began shooting headshots when a major NY/LA agent asked her to develop a clean, fresh, edgy “New York” look for her agency. The Paula Barr “signature” look continually evolves to be on the leading edge of the industry. In your session, Paula’s background as a painter, dancer and teacher are intuitively used—allowing your true self to be expressed and captured. Paula has invited Ben Bitonti, Director of Wilhelmina Creative, to join our workshop and discuss what managers/agents/casting directors look for in your headshot. She will also brief you on the benefits of shooting film, natural light, and reproducing from silver prints. Paula's clientele includes those shooting for the first time, working actors who are developing their careers, and celebrities who call a shoot at Paula Barr’s studio “a day at the spa.” THIS WORKSHOP IS ESSENTIAL FOR TISCH UG DRAMA SENIORS PARTICIPATING IN THE TSOA HEADSHOT BOOK 2007.  Presented by the Office of Career Development at the Tisch School of the Arts.
