Resume & Cover Letter Writing for Tisch International Students

This workshop will cover key qualities that the American workplace looks for in professional resumes and cover letters. The differences between American-style resumes and cover letters and those of other cultures will be highlighted. After observing these differences through examples, participants will complete exercises to polish and perfect their own resumes and cover letters. By the end of the workshop, participants should be able to continue the revision process independently to increase their appeal in the competitive job market. ESL and cultural concerns about resume and cover letter writing will be addressed. Julie Shuchman, Consultant on job search skills for International Professionals, will conduct the session. She has coached many International ITP graduates, on job search and many of her clients have landed jobs and/or internships. For fifteen years, she has taught! ESL Writing and Presentation Skills at New York area Universities, including NYU's American Language Institute, CUNY and Fordham University.  Presented by the Office of Career Development at the Tisch School of the Arts.
