The Tisch Salute to the Class of 2013 is officially scheduled for Friday, May 24th from 11am to 1pm.
The Salute to the Class of 2013 will include opening remarks from an esteemed member of the New York University community and a keynote speech by renowned writer, producer and showrunner, Glen Mazzara. Mazzara was most recently Executive Producer and Showrunner for AMC's record-breaking series, The Walking Dead. Full biography here.
Dean Mary Schmidt Campbell will also address the graduating class with a speech that reflects on previous achievements and encourage those achievements yet to come. A transcript of last year's speech is available here. The student speaker for the 2013 Tisch Salute will be John Grimmett, Master of Fine Arts degree candidate in Graduate Musical Theatre Writing. The Tisch Salute will also feature:
- A student processional
- Two live performances
- Hooding ceremony of PHD candidates
- A student speech to the Class of 2013
- Remarks by department chairs
