The Tisch Office of Career Development, located in the Office of Student Affairs, is an active and useful resource for Tisch students and recent alumni. The office offers a range of services, such as individual career counseling specific to the arts, resume-writing assistance, consultations, interview coaching, The Screenplay Bank and the exclusive Tisch Office of Career Development Alumni List Serve. The List Serve offers current entry-level job opportunities, full-time, part-time, freelance positions and announcements and networking opportunities for Tisch alumni interested in the New York and Los Angeles scenes in particular.
The office also houses a reference library containing information ranging from fellowship sources to directories of theatres, film, commercial and post production companies, talent agencies, and many other professional organizations.
The Tisch Office of Career Development conducts a series of discipline-specific professional workshops and special topic discussions. The Annual Tisch Career Fair for Tisch seniors and recent alumni attracts the likes of MTV, Court TV, Innovative Artists, The William Morris Agency, Ogilvy & Mather, New Line Cinema, ABC, CBS News, Grey Worldwide, Nickelodeon, The Public Theater, Curious Pictures, Comedy Central, BAM, DreamWorks, Miramax, and many others.
Students also have access to NYU’s Wasserman Center for Career Development located at Palladium 133 E. 13th Street, 2nd Floor. In addition, some Tisch students eventually land jobs and make excellent contacts through the many internships for credit that are available through their individual departments.
