How To Prepare For The Job Fair

TUESDAY, MARCH 6, 6:30-8:00PM

Conducted by Allison Hemming

The Dean's Conference Room, 721 Broadway, 12th Floor

On March 6, 2007, Allison Hemming, career authority and author of the job hunting book WORK IT!, will be at Tisch School of the Arts to help you get geared up for the Tisch Job Fair happening on Thursday, March 22nd.  If you think just showing up at the fair and "working the room" is the way to make a lasting impression with potential employers from the top companies you most want to work at is the way to go...think again!!!  Allison Hemming is coming in to run a no-holds-barred workshop on how to prepare for the Tisch Job Fair. She's a fire and brimstone speaker who will dole out tons of job hunting advice -- all gleaned from running her own recruiting agency and placing thousands of creative, interactive and advertising workers.  Most importantly, she'll demonstrate how a little "heavy lifting" before you show up to the Tisch Job Fair will go a long way to actually landing the job of your dreams!

Here's what you'll get out of scarfing down dinner early and instead joining us for this important session that will definitely change how you job hunt for the rest of your life:

- Learn the ins and outs of how to "Work The Fair" -- Sure you can visit all the employers at the job fair, but should you? A better bet might be figuring out which employers you most want to work at ahead of time and then coming up with a strategy to impress.
- Sharpen your Resume. Gear up to put a resume in front of an employer that will make a statement and get them to put you on the top of their pile rather than the circular file.
- Don't be a Fashion Victim. How to use your own personal style to make a lasting impression with potential employers. It counts.

Hemming will also deliver advice on how to handle long lines for the hottest companies and other  "top secret" tips  that can only be gleaned by those brave enough to attend this special career session.  So don't miss out!
