Workshop: Screenwriting 101

Date and Time:

December 8, 2005
6:00pm - 9:00pm

Location:

The Dean's Conference Room
721 Broadway, 12th Floor

Conducted by Jeffrey Stanley

A screenplay is an artfully written instruction manual for how to produce a motion picture.  In this 3-hour workshop we will start to explore that art and begin to learn the practicalities of the screenwriter's craft.  One cannot learn talent but one can learn the craft of screenwriting.  The workshop introduces the basic concepts of scene structure and dialogue.  The session will include lectures, Q&A, and at least one in-class writing exercise.  Bring pen and paper to take notes and participate.  Jeffrey Stanley is a Dramatic Writing Alumnus, and has written and directed many award-winning plays and screenplays, including “Tesla's Letters”, “Fishing With Tony and Joe”, “Medicine, Man”, “The Golden Horseshoe: A Lecture On Tragedy”, and “Brain On Fire”.  See www.brain-on-fire.com for more info.

Call (212) 998-1916 to RSVP.
