Counseling services are confidential and not part of a student's college record. No one outside the office is informed of a student's visits.
The only exceptions to confidentiality are the following:
- Life-threatening emergencies.
- Incidents of suspected child abuse.
- If there is the need to share limited information with Student Health Services.
- When an administrator has sent a student to the Counseling and Behavioral Health Services (CBH) and is expecting to receive feedback. Such evaluations take place only with the student's full awareness and permission.
These exceptions are rare. In every other case, counseling visits are completely confidential.
