topWhat Are The Different Events?
100 Nights Before Commencement: "100 Nights" is a party and an information session in one. The program was created to provide an opportunity for students to better celebrate their graduation in May and at the same time gain valuable information from such resources as Career Services, Alumni Services, the NYU BookCenters, the Senior Week Committee, Grad Alley and the Tisch Salute. Lots of free food, beverages and information will be available.
The Tisch Salute to the Class of 2008: Tisch’s graduation ceremony is an affectionate salute to the class and includes addresses by Dean Mary Schmidt Campbell, a student speaker, an honored guest speaker and the Tisch department Chairs. Cap and gown is required. Candidate names are NOT read during the ceremony nor are diplomas distributed.
Grad Alley: A Commencement Eve celebration in which the schools of NYU transform West 4th Street and its neighboring streets into an indoor and outdoor festival featuring music, dancing, street performers, student performances, food and fun!
176th University Commencement: The official graduation ceremony of the University with nearly 5,000 degree candidates participating. The ceremony includes a grad processional by thirteen different colleges, the faculty, administration and alumni of New York University. The program will occur rain or shine. Cap and gown are required. Candidate names are NOT read during the ceremony.
