Individual career counseling appointments for resume and cover letter consultation, interview preparation, and job search/career planning are available. Please call our office at (212) 998-1916 or contact Natasha Logan, Assistant Director of Career Development, directly at (212) 998-1824.

ALUMNI LIST SERVE

The List Serve (NY & LA) provides entry-level jobs and mid-career opportunities for recent graduates and seasoned Tisch alumni, networking events, alumni announcements, casting breakdowns, and calls for screenplays and plays from producers and development executives. The List Serve also provides Tisch alumni the opportunity to connect with each other.  Tisch alumni working in the creative industries provide some of our job opportunities.  To sign on, click "Alumni NY/LA List Serve" in Related Links and fill out the online form. Once we validate your alumni status you will begin to receive immediate notices from us.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS

Numerous and varied workshops occur throughout the year. These initiatives are for current Tisch students and alumni.  Past workshops have included Reading Scripts for a Living, Screenwriting 101, Careers for Photographers, The Screen Actors Guild Comes to Tisch, The Business Side of Acting, Interview Instincts, The William Morris Agency Comes to Tisch and Marketing Yourself 101.  All of our workshop descriptions can be found on our website; our Life After Tisch Series which begins each spring semester is specifically geared toward preparing for life after graduation.  Many of our workshops are led by Tisch alumni.

SCREENPLAY BANK

The Tisch Screenplay Bank has been an annual publication since 1997. Two alumni have sold scripts for six figures, while numerous others receive options as a result of their submissions. The Screenplay Bank provides over 400 loglines from the country's newest and most promising screenwriters to over 300 select members of the industry. Industry professionals contact more than 80% of those appearing in the Screenplay Bank.

TISCH CAREER FAIR

This Fair routinely attracts the most exciting entertainment companies from the tri-state area specifically interested in hiring qualified and well-trained arts professionals. Tisch seniors and recent alumni have an opportunity to network with industry representatives to discuss entry-level job opportunities. Employers have the opportunity to introduce themselves to The Tisch community, provide employment information about their organization and meet some of the most talented students and recent alumni. Our Career Fair is normally held in March or April and requires a ticket to attend.  Some of the companies who have hired from the Tisch community are: A&E, Innovative Artists, ICM, The Don Buchwald Agency, CBS News, Bloomberg, The Biography Channel, Getty Images, Court TV, Comedy Central, The Brooklyn Academy of Music, ImageMovers, Lucasfilm, PostWorks, Oxygen Media, Young Playwrights and others.

Tisch students and alumni are welcome to use the fax, printer and computer located in our office.  We also receive all of the major trade papers, which are available during business hours.  The office houses a reference library containing information ranging from fellowship sources to directories of theatres, film, commercial and post production companies, talent agencies, and many other professional organizations.
